ATO Stillbirth Research Benefit Raffle
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
1. General Information. First Candle/SIDS Alliance ("First Candle") is a tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation which is holding six separate drawings for chances to win one (1) $30 gift certificate to the still point, one (1) gift basket from The Big Bad Woof, one (1) gift basket from Fair Day's Play, one (1) $40 gift certificate from Now and Then, one (1) $50 gift certificate to the Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-op or one (1) $25 gift certificate to Middle Eastern Cuisine. First Candle is dedicated to promoting infant health and survival during the prenatal period through two years of age.
2. Eligibility. You must be a U.S. resident, 18 years of age or older. This drawing is void where prohibited by law. No First Candle employees, board members or their family members are eligible to participate in the drawling.
3. Prize/Drawing Information. The prizes awarded shall be at least 4 gift certificates and one gift basket from Takoma Park sponsors, subject to the following additional rules:
a. The names of the winners will be made available to the media by First Candle and Allan's Trees and and Allan's Trees will post the winner's names on their website. In accepting the winning Prizes, the winners consent to having their names published in a variety of media in conjunction with promotional activities associated with First Candle and Allan's Trees.
b. The winner will be selected by a random drawing conducted by First Candle through its authorized representative. The drawing will be held on December 12, 2009, at approximately 4:00 PM at 1204 Prospect Street, Takoma Park MD. The winners need not be present at the time of the drawing in order to collect their prizes. The winners will be notified by telephone and e-mail. The drawing for the Middle Eastern Cuisine gift certificate will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009. All online purchases made after 4:30 p.m. on Friday the 11th will be entered into the raffle for that gift certificate.
c. In order to be eligible to participate in the drawing, tickets must be submitted and placed in the official drawing device on or before 3:45 PM on December 12, 2009.
d. Arrangements will be made with the winners to receive their respective prizes.
e. The winners assume all responsibility for their prizes.
f. In accepting the Prize the winners acknowledge that First Candle and Allan's Trees, its directors, officers, members, employees and agents will be released and held harmless for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including attorneys fees and expenses, in any way related to or sustained in connection with the Prize awarded. First Candle, its directors, volunteers, members, officers, and agents disclaim any and all express and implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose regarding the Prizes. The Prizes are offered "as is."
g. A maximum of 100,000 tickets will be distributed.
h. The decision of First Candle and Allan's Trees shall be final and binding on any and all matters concerning the drawings.
i. All proceeds from the contest, will benefit the charitable stillbirth research and prevention programs of First Candle.
j. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
k. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entrants. Approximate retail value of the Prizes awarded range from $25-50.
Purchase. A donation of $2 is requested for each entry or $5 for three entries. Tickets will be made available at select events and locations in Maryland and Washington, D.C., in addition to First Candle's website, www.firstcandle.org. Presentation of the Prizes shall be made solely to the entrants. Late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or damaged drawing tickets will not be eligible, and First Candle and Allan's Trees assumes no responsibility for same. Requests for entries accompanied by a donation and secured through the First Candle website must be received on or before December 11, 2009.
